KitchenAid KFP750 Review

KitchenAid is definitely one of the most well-known food processor brands, and a brand I've personally been using for the last 15 years. They have a reputation of building high-quality food processors, and this model is no different. In fact, it's probably the best allround food processor you can get at the moment. Let's take a closer look at it...

Capacity and power

Now, the first thing you have to figure out before buying a food processor is how big work bowl you need.

The KFP750 has a 12-cup work bowl, which I think is just the right size for most tasks. Unless you have a very big family, or regularly cook for lots of people, 12 cups is more than enough. The great thing about this model is that it also comes with a 4-cup mini bowl, which is perfect for smaller tasks.

Arguably the most important aspect of a food processor is the strength of the motor. If it's not powerful enough it will struggle with tougher jobs, like bread dough, and it can even burn and break down completely.

Luckily, the KFP750 has a 700-watt motor, which is definitely enough for even demanding jobs. There are other food processors on the market with more power, for example some Cuisinart models, but in my opinion they're seriously overkill for normal use.

Features

OK, so far so good, this looks like a great choice. Now let me tell you a bit about the features you'll find on this appliance.

Like almost all other food processors in this price range, it has a pulse control that gives you a finer touch when you need precision. It has a sealed housing that significantly reduces the noise and makes this one of the quieter food processors on the market.

It comes with a generous amount of accessories out of the box: There's the 4-cup mini bowl with a stainless-steel blade, a 2-mm slicing disc, a 4-mm slicing disc, a 4-mm shredding disc, a dough blade, and a spatula. The bowls, blades and discs are of course dishwasher-safe, and the base is easily wiped clean, so cleaning up after using it is not a problem at all.

Critical reception

So what do others think about the KitchenAid KFP750?

Well, Cooks Illustrated gave the KitchenAid KFP750 their top rating. On Amazon.com it has been given a 4.6 average rating out of 5, from over 400 user reviews. 98% of reviewers on Cooking.com recommended it, and 96% thought it provided great value.

I'd say those reviews are spot on. In fact, you'll be hard pressed to find a credible poor review for this food processor.

Summary

In summary I have to say that this is the most solid food processor I've tried, and everyone else seem to agree with me. Of course, I would've preferred it if the price was a little lower, but competing models from for example Cuisinart cost about the same. I also saw someone on Amazon complain how you couldn't use the entire 12 cups when processing liquids, but I can't say more about that as I haven't tried it myself.

All in all, I highly recommend this food processor and I absolutely think it's the best choice to buy right. You won't be disappointed!

If you want to buy this food processor, I highly recommend that you check Amazon.com first.
You won't find a better deal than that on the KitchenAid KFP750.

Video Review

I found this video review on Youtube, uploaded by the Cooking.com staff. It's not the exact same model, but a very similar one. The KFP750 doesn't come with an egg whip, that's the only difference I can see. Anyway, I thought I'd share it here as it shows some of the features quite well.
